MP's Mountaineer Bhawna Dehariya Hoisted Tricolor on Highest Peak of Europe
Mountaineer Bhawna Dehariya at Mount Elbrus with Tricolour

Mountaineer Bhawna Dehariya celebrated 75th Independence Day by hoisting the tricolor on the summit of Europe's highest peak.

She climbed the 5642 meter high peak of Mount Elbrus (Russia) and hoisted the tricolor on the eastern peak of the mountain here on August 15. 

Soon she will also conquer the western peak of Elbrus and hoist the tricolor on it. Mount Elbrus has an elevation of 18,510 feet above sea level. 

Bhawna's Journey to Mount Elbrus

This was her first mountaineering journey after becoming a mother. She has a 15 month old daughter.

Bhawna set out to conquer Elbrus with three women, she is the only mountaineer from Madhya Pradesh in the women's team. 

Bhawna along with her team reached Mineralny Vody city from Russia's capital Moscow on 10 August, after which they covered 2,346 meters on 11 August during a climate-adaptation rotation.

While covering such a height, her nose started bleeding, but she did not stop.

On 12 August, along with the team, she covored the height of the mountain at 3,888 meters and built a base camp.

For the next two days she did rotations and covered a height of 45,00 metres.

Bhawna said that during mountaineering, rotation plays a special role in protecting the body from changes in air pressure at the top of the mountain and acute mountain sickness.

Mountaineer Bhawna Dehariya Hoisted the Tricolor at 5:30 am

 

Bhawna told that on 15 August, she started climbing the mountain with the team from 12 o'clock on the night of 14 August to hoist the tricolor on Mount Elbrus. 

She reached the western Mount Elbrus at around 5:30 in the morning and after summit hoisted the tricolor here. 

Bhawna thanked Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board and State Bank of India for their cooperation for the success of her campaign.

Since becoming a mother, Bhawna was constantly training in the mountainous areas of Tamia, which helped her to conquer Mount Elbrus.

First Woman from MP to Scale Mt. Everest

Bhawna had achieved the title of the first woman from the state to scale Mount Everest on 22 May 2019. 

Apart from this, Bhawna had also hoisted the tricolor on the highest peak of Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa continent on the day of Diwali in 2019.

She climbed Mount Kojiasco in Australia continent on the day of Holi.

In the field of mountaineering, Bhawna's name is recorded in the Guinness World Records.

She will hoist the tricolor on the highest summit of the seven continents under the 7 Summit Mission.
